It is very useful and kids can understand the concept. Kids can do the assembly with the given manul. The manual was so precise that easily kids can do the assembly. Kids need time to assemble, but super exited after the assembly finishes.

The product is good. Its quite fun to assemble the parts. The quality of wood is good. Just one defect, that is, the large syringe in the base go inside when water is pushed. This make the whole setup rotate only once. Otherwise its really good!

This was really very good and complete project. It just received in time. It does have all instruction for assembly. It was build completely assembled by my son (11 year old) with help of Assembly instructions. I liked it too much. Looking for all other projects like this.

Got this for my 4-year-old son for Christmas. Assembly would take a couple of hours and kids may need help from elders for fixing some of the small pieces so make sure you have time in hand to sit with your child as they do the setup. The instruction booklet is clear enough and if you just follow it blindly you should not have any problem putting the pieces together. The cardboard is sturdy and doesn't get wet easily so a bit of spill and splash while getting the hydraulics working should be fine. I would suggest not dismantling the setup once done as repeated assembly and disassembly would increase the wear and tear on the delicate parts. Instead, just disconnect the control unit from the crane by removing the tubes, drain the water and keep the setup aside for next use. Overall, this is an engaging toy and could help in developing scientific and logical thinking in children.

Advantages

The rack and pinion assisted turn functionality was a disappointment , as it didn't turn back upon syringe suction. It looks like holding the soft box weight is making an imbalance . This design need to be relooked into.
