The top rated review gave 1 star because it is not made in Germany !I have not checked mine, but I don't care if it is Germany or India, as long as it performs. Frankly used it for a week only and first impressions are it's a nice product and does a very good job

Good quality, reasonable price. It has the weight and feel of a real meat cleaver, I wanted something low cost for the short time I am visiting India, and since Indians dont eat a lot of meat, and what ever they buy is usually cut in bite sized pieces by the butcher, I was skeptical if I could find a good cleaver at the right price point of around $10 or so (given purchasing power parity, etc). I purchased this thinking of the iron clad Silkrute return policy and that at $10 this was a low risk. But I was pleasantly surprised at the quality and weight. It is really excellent, the only downside is the poor quality handle. The handle works and is well integrated, but doesn't have the solid feel - but then again I can't compare my $75 cleaver with this one. Its plain and simple awesome!
