Hi I purchased this as a gift to a friend and just found out that a beautiful looking wooden box with golden lid was actually delivered to them in this state. This is the condition of the lid. Can the seller pls tell me how did the lid go frm golden to blackish silver & how do I get the shine back?

Wood has a big crack. The lid is so tight that it's difficult to open even with two hands. Color is coming out. If this is the quality for a stuff costing 2k then never go for it.
