Disadvantages

The lip of the upper chamber which is meant to fit on the top of the bottom chamber is too shallow. This means 1. It is unstable 2. There is enough gap for steam to escape. This is not only inefficient but also makes the handles of the top chamber very hot because steam comes in direct contact with the handles. Now the glass lid. The rim is metal, and there seems to be some invisible gap where it fits. This means condensed steam will collect here and remain inside for more than 12 hours- since it is not exposed and will therefore not evaporate/dry easily. Moreover, steam that condenses on the lid will also drip down the sides onto your food items, making them soggy. The only workaround I found was to use paper towels to close the gaps between the chambers, and similarly, paper towels again around the lid to reduce the dripping water onto food. The ONLY positive with this is that it works on induction as well.

Thanks Amazon for timely delivery. Vinod is popular cookware brand I feel , but I received new steamer with lower pot's handle/ ear semi broken. Thus returned. The steel quality felt good build . It had good thick base , may be induction compatible ( don't know ) so bottom of pot may not burn easily on gas stove as per my guess. But the handles / steel ears to catch/ lift up n down the vessel pots are not screwed inside the vessels with steel screw fixing. ( see the demo images ) I guess the handles may come out / break in future with time . I got already broken/ unfixed handle of lower part so decided to return. May buy another brand's in future.
