Am slowly going to phase out all of my aluminium/non-stick cookware and replace with steel ones beginning with cookers as the cooking time is fast and there is no risk of aluminium/PFOA leeching into food like with aluminium cookware and creating health problems/toxicity/poisoning. Don't know if there is a defect in the cooker when the liquids of dal/lentils/chana/rajma sometimes spray from the pressure point weight all over the kitchen. I don't think these cookers are meant for high flame and big burner on gas stove, after the first pressure it is wise to reduce the gas flame to 'medium/low' or the liquids keep spraying from pressure weight. Prestige being a lifelong brand that I've used I guess the warranty should take care of any defects/issues. I use it on gas stove and find it a good investment(I am booking a new cylinder every 40 days from gas agency I think now). I paid 2412 and then found that the price dropped by 200 or so after a few days right here on Silkrute itself so that was annoying....Update:- Please watch the movie 'Dark Waters' or why DuPont paid almost a billion dollars in settlement to people in the USA to stop the truth from getting out, we Indians are still using non-stick cookware>Made in China, believe me when I tell you stick to iron and steel..........

Fast cooking with steel cookers

Bought this in a deal/sale for INR 400/- almost a year ago.I really was an amazing deal. Because the product is still going good.But always found it difficult to make liquid substances like Dal, Gravy etc. Always needed to open-cook again for a couple of minutes even after cooking.

Nice cooker works very well.. But should be careful while closing the lid, once in a hurry I close it without much care and it got jammed. I had to wait for a long time for someone to come and fix it, after much effort. Using it for cooking rice and its handles are very firm-convenient.

The gasket that I have received is too thick and difficult to close the lid. I don't think it is of the company.i have a prestige 5ltr cooker which is very easy to close.but otherwise cooker is good

Worth every penny with hardly any cons. Probably could find cheaper version of same in Dmart.No trouble with opening/closing lid. Deep lid extremely handy while cooking rice or dal. Pan feature is very handy.. Had absolutely no trouble with it whatsoever

I have ordered Prestige Deluxe Alpha Outer Lid Stainless Steel Pressure Cooker but the seller sent me the prestige Alpha Svachha cooker which is less price than the outer lid one. Since my mother is not aware of the products, she had opened it and used it otherwise i would have written the product.The quality of the cooker is ok but the Svachha model cooker lid is not great and cleaning is not easy. Not recommended the Svachha model.

Iam using Prestige pressure cookers for a long time. This is the first time i bought a stainless steel cooker. Its a little heavier than aluminium but steel-wares are good for health in the long run. It even has a pressure release indicator so we do not need to lift the weight and see if the steam has been released or not.
