Each pressure cooker made by Hawkins features an inside fitting lid. This design is inherently safer than conventional pressure cookers. To open any Hawkins cooker, you have to first lower the lid slightly into the body of the cooker; and that cannot be done until the steam pressure inside the cooker falls to a safe level. Thus Hawkins pressure cookers are pressure-locked for safety - like a jetliner door!

Very good one and happy for purchase.Lid closing was different model which is my own experience but loved it. Perfect for 2 member meduim eaters. Giving one start less as cooker mouth edges are seeming to sharp and need to handle very carefully to avoid hurt.

No brand can take over Hawkins!! After using so many other popular brands too I have to return here. Expensive but it does what it says. Best heat resistant plastic used in handles which does not burn and makes pungent smell like others. Must go for it without thinking much.

I bought 2 cookers one is this steel cooker and other aluminium cooker. I found that the only positive about this cooker is that it can br used on induction by as compared to aluminium cooker price of this cooker is on higher side. Rest I like the look of this cooker but the pricing should not be this high.
