Each pressure cooker made by Hawkins features an inside fitting lid. This design is inherently safer than conventional pressure cookers. To open any Hawkins cooker, you have to first lower the lid slightly into the body of the cooker; and that cannot be done until the steam pressure inside the cooker falls to a safe level. Thus Hawkins pressure cookers are pressure-locked for safety - like a jetliner door!

There is nobody in the world who knows how to make pressure cookers better than Hawkins does. Great team committed to build high quality products. I will admit this is the first Hawkins Cooker I bought and after just a few times I understood why my parents always relied on Hawkins than any other cheap brand I would normally buy. Amazing attention to detail the seamless design. Heavy base is very effective at preventing food burning unlike cheap cookers. I think I'm sold to Hawkins for the rest of my life.. Although I might have an emotional bond with Hawkins but I think my 5 stars are not biased at all. I'm sure others would agree. One day I hope I'll buy the whistle less Futura cooker by Hawkins as well.
