Each pressure cooker made by Hawkins features an inside fitting lid. This design is inherently safer than conventional pressure cookers. To open any Hawkins cooker, you have to first lower the lid slightly into the body of the cooker; and that cannot be done until the steam pressure inside the cooker falls to a safe level. Thus Hawkins pressure cookers are pressure-locked for safety - like a jetliner door!

Giving my feedback after 2 weeks of usage. After reading a number of negative reviews I was not sure whether to purchase this or not. I was kind of fed up seeing pressure cookers with old handles where screw will often loosen up and you have to tighten it. I had accidentally come across this model in the shopping mall of the 5l variant. Another 2 models were one from prestige (which I felt badly designed with loose parts ) and apple duo which has put a different handle in the product image though having old handle. What I liked in the pressure cooker is it is pretty well designed( with all parts tightly fixed) , heavy body and obviously the unique handle design. Since 3l variant was not available in the mall I bought it from Silkrute. Though 3000+ price is a bit on the higher side It depends how desperately you need the change.

Using it for more than 2-3 years, you can easily found the difference in taste of pulses and other items which are cooked in this cooker compared to normal cooker, it's really worth to spend money in this. I was unlucky to get a faulty one which was cutting the cooker ring, need to struggle in getting it changed.

Beautiful product. Works efficiently. Saves fuel upto 50%. The only drawback is there should have been support on the opposite sides of the handle so that it can be handled easily while hot.

I bought this cooker for overseas use- first cooker was shipped with broken part in the handle. Returned and ordered 2nd piece, but this one is faulty too- its original handle seems to be replaced with local, so it does not seal properly. Really bad experience. DO NOT BUY from this seller. Although future coolers are great, but cheat seller
