Each pressure cooker made by Hawkins features an inside fitting lid. This design is inherently safer than conventional pressure cookers. To open any Hawkins cooker, you have to first lower the lid slightly into the body of the cooker; and that cannot be done until the steam pressure inside the cooker falls to a safe level. Thus Hawkins pressure cookers are pressure-locked for safety - like a jetliner door!

The lock failed after using it twice. 5 years of warranty is a joke. Had to visit the service center, then had to wait for 5 days then got the Lock replaced. Had to pay 50? there. What is the warranty for?

Delivery was on time. I have already been using the 2 ltrs cooker of the same brand and I am pretty happy with it. Food cooks faster as compared to a normal cooker. Have deducted one star since the end of the whistle is scratched and looks a little old, maybe a display piece or something.

It’s look like cooker has problem in whistle mechanism. Brought 2 and one tried one which is having problems with whistle. Conventionally we judge cooking by number of whistle. If no whistle how one can judge cooking.

Used this item for only 4 months and the body of the pressure cooker is defective due steam release from the sides despite new gasket.Warranty is still valid but I have been informed by hawikins as well by Silkrute that there is no home visit and I have to deliver the item to a place which is about 1.5 hrs drive in Goa and dealer has nothing to do with it. All warranty covers a home visit but in this case I wll have to make two trips which will cost me 30 percent the price if this defective cooker, besides not knowing what is in store for me.Rumour has it that cloudtail sells defected items with a tie up with Silkrute. Beware and do not fall prey to both Silkrute and cloudtail for this item or others because they will direct you to the company and thereby wash their hands off leaving you to do the running around. Better to buy directly from dealers with their warranty stamp.
