Each pressure cooker made by Hawkins features an inside fitting lid. This design is inherently safer than conventional pressure cookers. To open any Hawkins cooker, you have to first lower the lid slightly into the body of the cooker; and that cannot be done until the steam pressure inside the cooker falls to a safe level. Thus Hawkins pressure cookers are pressure-locked for safety - like a jetliner door!

Used this item for only 4 months and the body of the pressure cooker is defective due steam release from the sides despite new gasket.Warranty is still valid but I have been informed by hawikins as well by Silkrute that there is no home visit and I have to deliver the item to a place which is about 1.5 hrs drive in Goa and dealer has nothing to do with it. All warranty covers a home visit but in this case I wll have to make two trips which will cost me 30 percent the price if this defective cooker, besides not knowing what is in store for me.Rumour has it that cloudtail sells defected items with a tie up with Silkrute. Beware and do not fall prey to both Silkrute and cloudtail for this item or others because they will direct you to the company and thereby wash their hands off leaving you to do the running around. Better to buy directly from dealers with their warranty stamp.

I bought this cooker for overseas use- first cooker was shipped with broken part in the handle. Returned and ordered 2nd piece, but this one is faulty too- its original handle seems to be replaced with local, so it does not seal properly. Really bad experience. DO NOT BUY from this seller. Although future coolers are great, but cheat seller

Cooks very fast.Less water required.Easy to wash.First boil with water then start to use.Wissel sounds like a running train.It means down for low heat required , after 2 minutes switch of the gas and remove it from the stove,it works for me !!!just try your cooking method!!!Comparison : From old model(red color) : New - cooks fast now.Overall recommended.Packaging was good.New piece!

The cooker is an ideal buy for anyone who wishes to cook small quantities in a quick span of time. Meat, vegetables, rice, pulses, etc. anything cooks quick enough.Cleaning might be a wee bit time consuming but that's the case for all cookers.All together, it's a good buy worth the price and quality.
