Each pressure cooker made by Hawkins features an inside fitting lid. This design is inherently safer than conventional pressure cookers. To open any Hawkins cooker, you have to first lower the lid slightly into the body of the cooker; and that cannot be done until the steam pressure inside the cooker falls to a safe level. Thus Hawkins pressure cookers are pressure-locked for safety - like a jetliner door!

The base is thick and it helps avoid burning while cooking. The two handles makes handling the cooker easy. Anodized aluminium makes the scratch on the outer surface the develops on continuous washing not too obvious to the eye. Overall built quality is top notch as expected from Hawkins. I have been a regular with the brand and specifically their Futura range which is always sturdier than their normal range.

The cooker is great, the food cooked is also very tasty. But the cooker misses on an important point and that is holding area in the front. Holding it with just the handle becomes difficult and a handle in the front is much needed.
