Each pressure cooker made by Hawkins features an inside fitting lid. This design is inherently safer than conventional pressure cookers. To open any Hawkins cooker, you have to first lower the lid slightly into the body of the cooker; and that cannot be done until the steam pressure inside the cooker falls to a safe level. Thus Hawkins pressure cookers are pressure-locked for safety - like a jetliner door!

The cooker is great, the food cooked is also very tasty. But the cooker misses on an important point and that is holding area in the front. Holding it with just the handle becomes difficult and a handle in the front is much needed.

They’re unavailable to support repairs/replacement. I lost 3087/- rupees by purchasing Futura pressure cooker.

Advantages
This 3 Lit Futura pressure cooker is a fantastic product. Efficient fast and so easy to use. It cooks well on slow flame simmer saving gas and it is so easy to clean because of its finish. It is relatively quiet and it is such a relief from the perpetually whistling conventional cookers. I docked it one star because I miss a small grab handle on the other side of the main handle which would make it easy to handle a full cooker when hot. The size is ideal for 3 persons for normal daily cooking. It is pricey but worth it. I just wish it came with an over-box over the original colored box of the cooker. It arrived safe but the box was ruined in shipping and certainly could not have been given as a gift if needed. It would have been really nice to be able to open a fresh box with this priceless cooker.

The product I received was damaged! Can you please carry out proper quality checks before delivering the product? There's no way this was damaged in transit.The cooker handle was properly damaged, the whistle was old/not the standard quality. Also, the gasket is missing.
