Each pressure cooker made by Hawkins features an inside fitting lid. This design is inherently safer than conventional pressure cookers. To open any Hawkins cooker, you have to first lower the lid slightly into the body of the cooker; and that cannot be done until the steam pressure inside the cooker falls to a safe level. Thus Hawkins pressure cookers are pressure-locked for safety - like a jetliner door!

This is compact and inner lid so, not very easy to use but looks good.There is no whistle system. First time users might thing it’s a problem but the method of cooking is different. Overall I like this item.

Using it for more than 2-3 years, you can easily found the difference in taste of pulses and other items which are cooked in this cooker compared to normal cooker, it's really worth to spend money in this. I was unlucky to get a faulty one which was cutting the cooker ring, need to struggle in getting it changed.

I had purchased this and in my thought it is nice cooker but it is not easy to use as in this cooker u will not hear loud whistle like other cookers. U need to stay there only until the whistle starts shaking with little voice and then have to slow the flame for arround 10 minutes and after that u can off the flame. In short u need to percept that the food is cooked. Otherwise it is good if you fully got how to use.

Those who are do not care about weight go for it. But it is not easy to wash. If you want light cooker go for normal cooker. Please go show room and physically check this cooker whether it is okay for you or not. Quality and working all are amazing. Except weight.

Not valid product seems that after a couple of months of usage the plastic handle does not sustain and gets cracked and then breaks off. Not sure what Hawkins has in the Pressure Cooker Guarantee contains as the replacement parts are not considered which is senseless. Making fool of the customer on sharing 5 years guarantee card with Authorised Service center which normal replacement parts are the one which is easily damaged. Making a profit on such product after-sales services is stupendous for customers to deal with such scenarios.
