Each pressure cooker made by Hawkins features an inside fitting lid. This design is inherently safer than conventional pressure cookers. To open any Hawkins cooker, you have to first lower the lid slightly into the body of the cooker; and that cannot be done until the steam pressure inside the cooker falls to a safe level. Thus Hawkins pressure cookers are pressure-locked for safety - like a jetliner door!

I would rather say this is my dream purchase. No product can be better than Hawkins. My home uses Hawkins since I was a small kid. You must have a Futura to complete your Pressure Cooker needs.

From the first use it created problems. Whenever we are going to use it, it's lid never adjusted to its inner pot properly. That's why continuous vapor flow is occurring from the sides of the lid. That is so embarrassing and time consuming. We checked it's gasket, but the problem is with the shape of the lid. We did not return it after use from our sense of ethics. But our question is about the originality of the product. We have been using many products of Futura buying from local store for several years and we know the quality very well. After this incident, we will think before buying it on the online platform.

I am writing this review after having used the cooker for about 2 weeks. I'll sum up the pros below here:1. Looks stylish.2. Thick bottom (and also probably the quality of steel) ensures a relatively non-stick surface while cooking.3. Very little cook time required.4. Movement of ladle or your specific cooking gear used to stir the food is very easy.5. Pouring out of food very convenient! Unlike other cookers food does not accumulate near the rim of the cooker while pouring it out, which is very very satisfying for me.Ever since i got this cooker i have been using it for cooking almost everything for my family of 2 and food has never tasted so good!
