Each pressure cooker made by Hawkins features an inside fitting lid. This design is inherently safer than conventional pressure cookers. To open any Hawkins cooker, you have to first lower the lid slightly into the body of the cooker; and that cannot be done until the steam pressure inside the cooker falls to a safe level. Thus Hawkins pressure cookers are pressure-locked for safety - like a jetliner door!

Awesome product. Works flawless. Prefer stainless steel as aluminium particles are harmful for the body. Check harmful effect leaching of aluminium from utensils on human body. Human body needs various various minerals such as iron, magnesium and others but NOT aluminium. Get life insurance with good sum assured if you are using aluminium cookers. This or any equivalent good brand of stainless steel cooker is great

I've no points for dislikes, as I'm veteran user of Hawkin's cooker. Previously we had aluminium cookers, and suddenly one good day wifey asked to get the stainless steel one. So we had our eyes set upon two distinct beands namely Hawkins & Vinod. Finally, went with our trusted old brand Hawkins. It's pricier than almost all other ones, but the quality is impeccable. Cleaning is more easy compared to aluminium ones. Will buy 2 to 3 more & keep stocked, as the prices soar each year by 10% almost. The base is thickest than all and it oozes premiumness. No stickiness & feels extra durable. Size 3 ltrs is enough for our small family of five. Easy to use just like any other conventional cooker.
