It makes the pressure cooker absorb heat faster making it more energy-efficient. And the pressure cooker stays looking new for years. The unique pressure regulating system gives you the convenience of finger-tip pressure release and prevents clogging of the steam vent. The double-thick base stays flat heats evenly and is ideal for light frying before pressure cooking. Each Futura features an inside-fitting lid. This design is inherently safer than conventional cookers. Thus it is pressure-locked for safety like a jetliner door! The safety valve is located under the lid handle bar so that when it operates the steam is safely deflected downwards. The first one which I got was defective. The lid was loose and it was full of scratches. So, I opted for replacement. It was sold by 'Cloudtail'. The second one (replacement one) also have some scratches. One thing which I have noticed in both the cooker is that when we boil something in the cooker, small amount of water comes out of the pressure cooker regulator which should not happen. I think it is the fault of this model itself because I have seen some videos for demo of this cooker in the youtube there also I have noticed that water comes out of the pressure cooker regulator. But this kind of problem is not there in the old model cookers. The price of this cooker is so high as compared to other cookers and in this price tag these problems should not be there. This model has downgraded the brand name of Hawkins. At last I would say that this Hawkins Futura hard anodized 5L pressure cooker is not worth for money. And after using 2-3 months I will update my review.

This is a great product from Hawkins. The quality and fit and finish is impeccable, and importantly it is Induction-compatible. It comes as a complete set with product manual and cookbook, a small circular stand to keep containers in within the pressure cooker, and a brush to clean the pressure vents.Note that it is not the whistling kind of pressure-cooker, so you cannot time your cooking by the number of whistles. It instead uses a more modern technique and one can learn the exact time required by a bit of trial and error. It has it's advantages over the whistle type, in that it makes a lot less noise so can be used for cooking late in the night etc without disturbing anyone. And it is very efficient and effective.
