Advantages

Good choice. Healthy alternative and food does not stick even with less oil. Used steel kadai from other brand where flat bottom part is very small and always the sides are thin and get brown marks .Hawkins has uniform thickness, Make sure to use medium heat only while cooking. Elegant looking also.

Advantages

Nice pan, heavy and distributes heat quickly. It will save gas in the long run as one needs to keep gas a notch or two lower than what a regular pan requires. If you keep the heat at same level food burns easily. But this is not a drawback as it saves energy, just need to adjust the habit of cooking at lower temperatures. Overall a very good product and I have bought the karahi as well, which is also fantastic.

My rating of three star is not for the product quality. the product may be deserving a better rating. Hawkins is a trusted brand and the frypan I bought was thick enough, of rugged construction and right sized for me. All fine..But I am unable to use it because they have affixed a sticker inside the cooking area of the frypan exactly at the centre..!!! I removed the sticker but unable to clean the residue the sticker has left on the cooking surface...! I got some solutions from the youtube and need to try today. The sticker carries information about the size, steel grade etc.. This information is useful before buying , but the sticker is visible only when you buy and open the package. So, that sticker is absolutely not necessary at that place, it can be placed elsewhere but definitely not in the cooking surface. Cooking surface should be absolutely intact. This is not the first instance... whenever you buy any utensil like frypan or saucepan or tawa of any brand...you will have to remove various stickers before putting them into work..!!! ...if a homemaker mother tries to abrase the residue of the sticker with knife or any other sharp objects (which is very likely to happen), the surface gets damaged permanently... There may be solutions to remove the residue, but why the sticker has to be placed exactly at the center of the cooking surface..?? I don't get it.. Hawkins is a reputed brand and we expect them to consider the customers' sentiments.

The product is sturdy, heavy and the finish is very good.When you receive the pan the sticker on it can be easily removed and I recommend applying a few teaspoons of any cooking oil on the residual glue from the label and gently rub using your finger and if stubborn use a piece of cotton cloth to scrub with oil. Once the traces of glue are removed, wipe clean with a cloth. Do not wash it before removing the Hawkins sticker and all traces of glue. You can now wash it and follow instructions given to begin using your frying pan.
