Advantages

The pan is quite useful however, it requires considerable oil to ensure that food does not stick. Not suitable for making sunnyside up eggs unless one is very liberal with the oil. Should have chosen the nonstick version

It would be a JOKE to comment on the durability and value for money of this product or for that matter any of the Hawkins Futura products, especially sold on Silkrute.in. I live in London and have been blessed with the Silkrute.uk site. Never did I realize that just changing countries, the brand looses its Values and Ethics. Anyway, I ordered this and 3 other Hawkins Futura products from Silkrute.in during my recent visit to India. Considering the so-called brand, they were expensive but, I wanted quality so decided to go ahead with the purchase. After coming back to London and on opening and using the package of these 4 items, did I realize how bad in quality were they. There was a white powder coating on all 4, the minute they were washed that powder would stick on to hands and not to mention go in the food cooked. I immediately clicked pictures and sent it to Silkrute.in guys and their response was a Shock for Me. They say please contact the manufacturer. So the only work left for me is to call the manufacturer from London. I wrote innumerable emails but, no response and the Silkrute guys sure have some great staff who kept sending me Cut Copy Paste standard emails. Am disgusted with this whole episode but am writing here only to WARN the lovely people of India to not use this service and rather buy stuff from another site.

Advantages

This is a good looking product, and it does it's job well. I specifically bought it for eggs - fried and omelette, and I'm addressing the point because I saw several comments and questions about this. Yes, it is possible to make eggs. The thing is, that unlike a non-stick here it works best when the oil is very hot, or else, you will surely have something sticking. The advantage is that even if it does stick, you can scrape it off with a metal spoon, and continue without ruining the surface. Edit : one foolproof method to avoid sticking is lining the pan with a little butter. Look it up on the internet.

Advantages

Excellent product. I have been using one already for the past 5/6 years, this one a gift to my mother. The trick to make it work well is to heat the pan well first than use it for frying, just like a cast iron pan. I use it for frying fish, omelettes or pancakes. If you dnt heat it, ingredients will stick to the bottom.

When measuring. Please measure the bottom. I measured the top The bottom is less than the top rim. Unfortunately ended up buying a smaller one Than I thought.
