A prayer flag is a colorful rectangular cloth made up of pure cotton often found strung along mountain ridges and peaks high in the Himalayas. They are used to bless the surrounding with the Positivity. Every syllable of this mantra has a deep rooted meaning and signifies to purifies the realm of existence. The first word Om is a sacred syllable found in Indian religions. The word Mani means "jewel" or "bead" Padme is the "lotus flower" (the Buddhist sacred flower) and Hum represents the spirit of enlightenment. It is commonly carved onto rocks known as mani stones or else it is printed on paper or a piece of cloth which is assembled into flags. When an individual waves the flag it is said that the effect is the same as reciting the mantra. with each thread getting ripped from the said flag leaving the effect of mantra in the surrounding. while you hang them on your motorbike or a bicycle the vibes around will always be positive threads coming out of the flag will cleanse its surrounding as well. Prayer flags come in sets of five: one in each of five colors. The five colors are arranged from left to right in a specific order: blue white red green and yellow. The five colors represent the five elements and the Five Pure Lights. Different elements are associated with different colors for specific traditions purposes and sadhana. Blue symbolizes the sky and space white symbolizes the air and wind red symbolizes fire green symbolizes water and yellow symbolizes earth.According to Traditional Tibetan medicine health and harmony are produced through the balance of the five elements.

I rode my bike with the prayer flags attached on the front for 100kms straight. The quality of the cloth is pretty bad. The prayers space between the fabric lining is expanding and has started to rip off. Although the seller says it comes from Delhi, but I doubt the originality. I would rather recommend anyone to ask their friends or relatives to get the original ones from the north when they visit. Will still be using them because of the spiritual feels. Pictures attached after one ride.
