I'm a first time user of this kind of shaving soap hence can't compare it to other products in same category (creams and foams). All I can say is - it gives a "vintage" feeling and can be a conversation starter (while at someone else's place)! Smell is good and refreshing.

This is the first time I've bought a shaving soap and this is definitely a step up from regular shaving creams and gels (I won't even mention foam). The smell is exactly what you imagine, sandalwood and oudh. One additional thing I like is how the shaving brush smells long after you've used it. The shave quality is discernably better than usual. I really appreciate the personal note than came with this soap and a small bottle of aftershave(I don't think everyone would get that)
