Yes it has excess Vitamin A, and I've been having this for more than 6 months in my preconception period to have enough nutrients stored in my body by the time the big day comes and I've seen no side effects at all. The source of vit a here is beta carotene and 1mg = 1667IU and the daily recommended value for Vit A during pregnancy is 10000IU daily or 25000IU weekly. So convert it and you won't find the value THAT high.Plus the source of Vit A here is beta carotene not retinyl palmitate or anything else, and beta carotene reacts differently in our body. I went through enough studies to find this and I quote "Unlike preformed vitamin A, beta-carotene is not known to be teratogenic or lead to reproductive toxicity [1]. And even large supplemental doses (20–30 mg/day) of beta-carotene or diets with high levels of carotenoid-rich food for long periods are not associated with toxicity. The most significant effect of long-term, excess beta-carotene is carotenodermia, a harmless condition in which the skin becomes yellow-orange [1,25]. This condition can be reversed by discontinuing beta-carotene ingestion."
