Bitter in taste is all good, but smells worst. Hope it works.???? might be the quality is not that good, depends on quality product

It's suppose to be a healthy practice to drink a glass of paneer dodi (8-10) soaked (overnight) & strained water, first thing in the morning. Suppose to control diabetes. But the strained water tastes bad. It was an impulse purchase. No, I'm not diabetic, bought for a family member who is. But after tasting it, the said person refused to use it. Not sure what to do.
