Wow I had NO CLUE Chicory could taste this bad! It's roasted to almost burnt so it tastes burnt and much more bitter than it should. I've had some fabulously roasted subtle flavored chicory and this is such a huge let down. Not returnable either, which I think they expect since it's horrible stuff. Also has way too much dust in it. You'd need a coffee filter paper, because in a cup of this chicory you'd have half a cup of sedimentation. Unbelievably bad stuff and absolute waste of money.

Great taste!I had this thing today in almond milk with some honey. It tasted really good. I am going to try it in hot water with no sweetener.I am a coffee lover, but 3 or 4 years back I gave up caffeine completely.I lived in the US past few years, and used these caffeine-free coffee alternatives -- Dandy blend, Cafix, Pero, Teeccino. I don't think any of them is as good as this roasted chicory root. In making this roasted chicory root in the form they sell, I hope they don't do too much processing (little more than roasting and grinding). But some of those other products certainly undergo more processing.Because decaf involves chemical processing, so I do not ever have decaf.Probably this will become my main drink now like how people have tea or coffee.Why not 5 stars?Look at the pictures. The box they sent to me looks ancient or really badly kept/handled.
