Unlike Nendran Banana Chips from Kerala spiced/ flavored Banana chips cannot be prepared in Nendran Bananas hence locally grown green vegetable bananas are cut into thin slices and fried in Cold Pressed Sunflower Oil these chips are then coated with Chilli powder & a bit of salt. Mysore region is famous for sunflower farms & hence traditionally extracted pure cold-pressed oil is procured locally & used as a healthy alternative to Palm/ Cottonseed Oil. Sliced bananas are deep-fried in cold-pressed oil under controlled temperature it ensures that the chips are lighter nongreasy and also enhances the natural earthy flavor of bananas. As a regular buyer I have enjoyed the thinner banana chips from Delight Foods and the lovely coconut flavour. Amazon's super fast delivery was also an advantage. As the chips were thinner some chips used to come broken but that was acceptable. This time chips were not broken but were thicker and the coconut oil flavour was difficult to assess. I have now shifted to another brand which though not as good as the original Delight is much better than the current one. If a Brand plans to change its product it should update the description and product sheet and let customers know.
