This is my review for the larger pack order last month. Now the seller has started selling these as "unsweetened". Not to be trusted. Disappointed. Seem to be very old berries, no blueberry taste. They print their own packing date but there is no indication of import date or best before date of the imported berries. Writing best before from 12 months of packing is utterly misleading. Had bought the same product a few months back and it was much better. This time poor quality. Avoid.

The unsweetened blueberries are nice to the taste. It was confirmed on speaking to the supplier these are unsweetened that means those that have no added sugar. Hence they are costlier than the other option of sugared blueberries also available from the same supplier. The characteristic flavour is partly due to the apple juice that is added for softness. I request Essence Nutrition to continue the different options and especially the one under review now that guarantees no added sugar nor any harmful chemicals such as sulphur dioxide.

Given the brand claims of the berries being unsweetened and the supposed reviews, I went for them. The reviews may just have to do with their cashback offer, cant say for sure. I have seen other brands do that, but the products are worth the 5-star reviews. While they didnt seem like they were sugared, the berries are stale. The packaging says it is packed in Nov 2020, which is when I have bought. But the berries in them are much much older or they are preserved in oils that are bad. Definitely do not recommend.
