Advantages
1.White or Refined Sugar White Sugar is touted as a 'bad' ingredient because it is nothing but empty calories. This is due to the fact that during processing, all the natural nutrients are stripped off, and further chemicals are used to remove impurities. Also most sugar processing units use sulphur to remove impurities from sugar crystals. As a result, some quantities of sulphur are retained in the sugar crystals, which when consumed over a period of time, could lead to health hazards. That's where sulphurless white sugar steps in. 2.Raw and Unrefined Sugar Raw and unrefined sugar, is merely sugar that has not been fully refined, which retains natural nutrients such as iron, magnesium, etc. and is therefore a better choice. This natural granulated sugar is golden in colour, tastes almost like honey and is free of any kind of chemicals or pesticides. 3.Demerara Sugar Demerara sugar is a kind of natural brown sugar which is light brown in colour, large-grained, chunky and raw, containing residual molasses. It is partially processed - made from the first crystallization of cane juice to sugar crystals 4.Brown Sugar Brown sugar is most often ordinary table sugar that is turned brown by the reintroduction of molasses. Normally, molasses is separated and removed when sugar is created from sugarcane plants. ie, Brown sugar is actually a white sugar with additional molasses to make it brown. Otherwise it is the same as white sugar. Because of its molasses content, brown sugar does contain certain minerals, most notably calcium, potassium, iron and magnesium (white sugar contains none of these). But since these minerals are present in only minuscule amounts, there is no real health benefit to using brown sugar. The real differences between the two are taste and the effects on baked goods. THE BOTTOM LINE Nutritionally, brown sugar and white sugar are not much different. Note: Seems that most of the buyers here misinterpreted this as Raw sugar. Actually this is merely a white sugar with additional molasses to make it brown. Go for it if you want organic brown sugar. Otherwise go for Raw / Demerara sugar which are also available in Amazon.

Disadvantages
I have seen and used real brown raw sugar and this product does not anything like it. It appears to be coloured white sugar and that's about it.
